The duration of **braces** treatment is one of the most common questions. On average it runs from **18 to 24 months**, but your case may be shorter or longer.

## Average duration

Mild cases can resolve in about 12 months; complex ones can exceed 24. The orthodontist estimates your time after diagnosis and adjusts it at each check-up.

## What does it depend on?

- **The complexity** of your malocclusion.
- **Your age** and biological response.
- **Keeping** adjustment visits.
- **Care**: avoiding broken braces lengthens or shortens the process.

## The periodic adjustments
